Students aged 14–16 at KS4 choose subjects according to their interests and prepare for the internationally recognised IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations.
Core subjects include English, Mathematics and Science. Students also study History, Geography, Economics, Business, Foreign Languages, Art, Music and other electives.
Assessment is comprehensive and includes classwork, homework, projects, tests and final exams. Parents receive regular progress reports.
Grading is on a 1–9 scale (9 is the highest grade, equivalent to A*; a pass is 4; 6–7 is good; 8–9 is excellent).
Students who are also enrolled on the Russian programme receive full preparation and sit the OGE exams in 4 subjects: Russian Language and Mathematics (compulsory) plus 2 electives (e.g. Social Studies, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, etc.). This allows them to receive both the Russian basic general education certificate and the international IGCSE certificate.
