Amy Prinsloo — teacher
I am from Cape Town, South Africa, where I studied Oceanography and I worked on various projects at sea. I started studying to teach in South Africa, as it was something I had always wanted to do. I completed my teaching diploma in Russia and started working at language schools, teaching English as a foreign language. However, this was not enough so I started working at private schools, where I taught the British Curriculum.
I have been teaching the British Curriculum for 7 years. I have designed CLIL programmes and now have the opportunity to extend my knowledge by working with a new age group. I love teaching and seeing those lightbulb moments when a student finally understands a topic or has a breakthrough and does something they have struggled with. I am enthusiastic about teaching and learning and I hope to extend this enthusiasm to the team and to the students.
Being from South Africa, I love all sports, especially contact sports and I am a huge hockey and boxing fan, even boxing in my free time. I love being outdoors and spend a lot of time outside with my husband and daughter.
