Chloe Herman — teacher and deputy head

Although I trained in Australia, where I gained my Bachelor of Education with Distinction, my 14 years of experience has been all based in UK National Curriculum
schools. I spent five years at an Ofsted “Outstanding” school in London, before moving to private independent schools in China, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

I am a passionate learner and I strive to instil this love of my learning in my students. I am due to complete my NPQH – National Professional Qualification for Headship in September 2023 and look forward to putting into practice what I have taken from the course.

I have a particular interest in reading and I’ve been involved in projects helping high-level readers excel as well as supporting those requiring intervention. These
courses have taken me to schools and companies in Thailand, Qatar and the United States.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling the world (as well as Russia) with my family. I also like to be competitive and remain active through swimming, running and recently, Pilates.

I am proud to have been a part of the British School of St Petersburg’s foundation in August 2019 and am thoroughly delighted to have been able to help found ISSPb too.
