Holidays in English

ENGLISH-LANGUAGE HOLIDAYS AT THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF ST. PETERSBURG

We invite children to spend their holidays at the International School of Saint Petersburg (ISSPb)!
ISSPb is a leading private international school located in the cultural capital of Russia. Teachers from the UK, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, France, Russia, and South Africa provide students with a unique opportunity to study within both Russian and British educational frameworks.

The school offers education through an accredited international curriculum as well as the Russian Federal State Educational Standard (FSES). Students at ISSPb come from more than 20 countries, including Russia, South Korea, Vietnam, China, Turkey, Chile, and many others. This creates a truly multicultural environment where every child can make new friends, broaden their horizons, and gain valuable experience of learning and communicating in a genuinely international community — often for the first time.

All learning takes place entirely in English. At ISSPb, English is not only the language of instruction but also the language of everyday communication. It is used throughout all aspects of school life — during lessons, projects, breaks, and extracurricular activities. Participation in the holiday programmes helps children become more confident speakers, improve listening skills, and perceive English as a natural means of communication rather than just a school subject.

SPRING AND AUTUMN HOLIDAYS

Spring and autumn holiday programmes at the International School of Saint Petersburg offer a rich and varied experience that combines full English immersion with native-speaking teachers from the UK, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, France, and South Africa.

The programme includes active sports sessions (football, basketball, rugby) and engaging after-school clubs based on children’s interests, such as science experiments, speed reading, chess, percussion instruments, and culinary workshops. Over the course of the week, children immerse themselves in the educational environment of an international school and become familiar with its learning approach. These are not traditional classroom lessons, but interactive activities, projects, teamwork, and discussions.

The one-week holiday programme combines learning, communication, and vivid experiences in a safe and inspiring environment. Children develop essential 21st-century skills, including:

  • communication and teamwork;
  • critical and creative thinking;
  • independence and responsibility;
  • confidence in expressing their ideas.

These skills support children not only in their studies but also in everyday life.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS

The ISSPb summer holiday programme includes engaging lessons in English and offers children the opportunity to:

  • immerse themselves in a full English-speaking environment;
  • explore innovative international education methodologies;
  • participate in projects related to engineering, entrepreneurship, and invention;
  • develop creative abilities through theatrical performances and a summer show.

In June, children enjoy plenty of outdoor activities, taking part in a variety of sports and cultural events while developing their creativity. All programme activities are designed to support the holistic development of each child, strengthen independence, motivation, and practical skills. Learning takes place in a friendly and supportive atmosphere where every student can discover and express their talents.

SUMMER LANGUAGE CAMP PROGRAMME

The summer language camp is divided into three themed weeks:

  • Sports Week

This week focuses on physical activity, outdoor games, and sports competitions. Children take part in team games, relays, and sports challenges where English is used as the main language of communication and interaction. Activities help children improve their physical health, develop team spirit, and build leadership skills.

  • Summer Show

The second week is dedicated to creativity, self-expression, and performance. Children take part in preparing theatrical productions, mini-shows, and performances conducted entirely in English. This week develops creative thinking and imagination, public speaking skills, confidence in English speech and pronunciation, as well as teamwork and mutual support.

  • Project-Based Learning

The third week focuses on project work and introduces children to the world of engineering, invention, business, and entrepreneurship. Through hands-on and game-based activities, children create their own projects, discuss ideas, find solutions, and present their results in English. This week is dedicated to developing critical and logical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills, teamwork, responsibility for results, entrepreneurial intuition, and creativity.
