Natalia Shevchenko — russian language teacher
My teaching motto is: “By teaching others, we learn ourselves.”
From the very first moment a child enters school, the teacher becomes everything for the child: mentor, role model and parental figure.
I am glad that my profession has led me to a world full of children’s voices. This is a world where it is difficult to draw a line between work and personal life. This is my philosophy, my road, calling and has led to the happiness of all my pedagogical work. Many years ago, I made my choice – I am a teacher. I understand what high demands are placed on the result of education today. A developing society needs modern, well educated, moral and enterprising people.
I have 25 years of teaching experience under my belt. I am proud of the fact that I have worked for 20 years in the MBEI “Lyceum of Law named after Sergei Nikolenko” in Khabarovsk. It’s probably hard to overestimate the importance of my profession. The task on my shoulders is to lay the first foundations for children. It takes effort, patience and strength to teach them to write beautifully competently, read correctly and expressively, count and solve any problems. I try to be not only charming, but also skillful, to know everything so that I can answer all the questions of “why?”, to see in each student a personality, to be able to deliver to them a memorable school life.
I feel great satisfaction when I see the result of my actions – children developing, becoming more skillful, independent, organised, kind and responsive.
The way to this result is a relentless work of the soul, it is a work full of worries, joys and sorrows, daring and searching. It is an eternal test of wisdom and patience, professional skill and human originality.
I am delighted that I am a member of the International School of St. Petersburg and can put into practice all my teaching experience.
