Sean Powell — teacher
I have studied all my life in the UK, having studied Politics at Newcastle University and then my PGCE at Nottingham University. I spent 3 years working at private independent schools in Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as a year working at a top international school in Egypt which was based on the UK National Curriculum.
I am always keen to adapt and strive to create exciting learning activities which engages all students. On top of this I regularly attend professional development seminars in order to find new ideas and method which I can apply to my own teaching to benefit my student’s progress.
For my hobbies I have a keen interest in natural landscapes and so I love to take the time to travel and go hiking as much as possible. In my day to day I also love to play badminton and I’ve taken an interest recently in baking.
I am so excited to be a part of The International School of St Petersburg. I had decided to move to Mexico at the beginning of the last academic year, but ISSPb was a truly special school that cared about the students and staff. Now I’m excited to be back delivering quality lessons to the students at my new favourite school ISSPb.
