The International School of St. Petersburg follows the English National Curriculum, which is broad and balanced and has a differentiated approach to learning. Our secondary school curriculum meets the UK National Curriculum standards in working towards iGCSE examinations at the age of 16.
During their first years in secondary school, pupils still receive a broad curriculum that enables them to have a broad understanding of the world around them and develop a plethora of skills. The curriculum is design to reflect the diversity of what is on offer in higher level education.
For students aged 14-16, our goal is to provide students with an individualized program depending on where they see their future. All students will take part in IGCSE (International Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations in seven core subjects, with some students taking an additional three. For native Russian students, there is the option of taking their OGE studies simultaneously with the core iGCSE subjects.
The proposed educational program provides clear development pathways that enable students to continue their education after reaching the age of 16 and prepare them for higher education or employment.
