Vyacheslav Matveev — Russian Secondary Coordinator. Russian Teacher

My interest in linguistics and text analysis developed at an early age and influenced my subsequent career choice. I graduated from the Philological Faculty of the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University, where I successively earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees, specializing in intercultural communication and semantic fields. As part of my academic work, I developed and conducted numerous series of educational webinars on literature, linguistics, and Russian culture (including for international students).

Having gained significant experience in online education, I worked for 2 years at the British School of Saint-Petersburg, where I was responsible for teaching Russian language and literature and helped develop the then newly introduced Russian program.
Working at ISSPb since its opening, I have been fortunate not only to apply my creativity in teaching but also to direct a Christmas play and inspire students to create several video projects.

In recent years, I have completed several additional courses, one of which focused on the specifics of preparing students for the Russian Language OGE (Main State Exam). Within the framework of our school’s Russian program, I work with students to examine the features of the exam’s tasks.

A joyful exclaimation of ‘Oh, now I get it!’ is my greatest reward.
