Have you ever felt like emotions were weighing on you like a very heavy stone? Well, I could have just found the solution to this – sport. Sport can come in handy if you want to let your emotions out, as it involves being continuously active (it also involves strategy, so your brain will most probably work much better and faster not only during the session but afterwards too). My personal recommendation is basketball, and now, I will tell you why…

Why Basketball?

Throughout my life, I have been very social and almost simultaneously, not social at all. What unites these two sides of me is school – and sometimes it’s in PE. In this first term we are playing basketball and it’s one of my most favourite sports – it helps me to let my emotions out. So if you return home upset, disappointed, dragged down or if something is playing on your mind – play basketball! You are always involved in the action and you will feel so much wiser after pulling off that one shot where you successfully outsmarted your opponent!

How to play it?

Basketball isn’t hard to play at all and that’s the beauty of it. There are two teams and the ball. To move, you have to dribble the ball – repeatedly bouncing the ball against the ground. The main goal of the game is to score in the opponent’s ring – a large circle with a net attached to it on both sides of the arena. This should give you an overall vision on basketball, but feel free to look up more information on the internet if required.

If you feel unhappy or demotivated, you’re thinking about that situation which embarrassed you at school, play sports (any sport will do the job). I guarantee you will feel as light as a feather after a game of basketball!
