She ran across the street towards the enchanted, old library, her heart thumping in her chest. She carefully placed her numb hand on the cold door handle, took a deep breath and pushed open the heavy, wooden door.

There were strange rumours going around about the enchanted library. It belonged to an elderly woman who was rarely seen. Trespassing in the library was strictly forbidden. The girl ran her gaze across the endless shelves full of magic books. The ancient, crumbling ceiling was close to collapsing and the floorboards made an annoying creak when she put her foot down. Suddenly, behind her, a heavy, dusty book fell onto the thin, velvet carpet with a deafening clang. The girl immediately spun around and rushed to the book. She gently pushed the dust off and when she saw the title, she couldn’t believe her eyes.

She dropped the book with a heavy thump and ran up the marble staircase to the second floor. Once she was there, she picked out another book, but then taking a quick glance at her watch, she realised she had a short amount of time left before the inspectors came to check the library was in a stable condition: for they did not know there was something magical about the library like she did.

In a panic, she rushed back downstairs, picked up the book she had previously dropped and pronounced three words. As if the library was under her spell, the ground beneath her opened into a deep chasm. Without a final glance at the enchanted library, the mysterious girl jumped into chasm holding tight to the magic book.

Later, as the inspectors checked what was recorded on the camera, they only saw a glimpse of the words on the book “how…”
