And now, the moment that you have all been waiting for – the game results! Our teams put in all their effort to prove what they were truly capable of!

Mr. David Signer

The games were incredibly tough, and our students gave it their all to perform at the highest level. Considering the number of students we have, it’s impressive that we managed to reach the podium in several competitions. Basketball was the only sport where the balance wasn’t quite there, but ISM came very well prepared for that match. It certainly makes a difference when a school has its own sports facilities and the chance to practice regularly – something we unfortunately don’t have at the moment. Still, we held our own and should be very proud.

I’m especially thrilled with the volleyball team. Despite limited practice, the players gave everything they had and came very close to winning it all. In netball, Ms. Herman and Mr. Clarke did an outstanding job keeping the team focused and motivated. It was the best level of play I’ve seen from them and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.

We won the first set 26-24, but then lost the second set 25-19. In the final set we lost 15-13.

Ms. Chloe Herman

Primary – Netball

With the students competing against four ISM teams of Year 6 students, our team performed well and were able to make it into the final. However, we struggled to ensure our passes were able to make it past some much taller defenders and despite managing an early 1-0 lead. The other team managed to make a comeback and in the dying minutes, scored the winner. Overall, the team demonstrated amazing stamina and skill with 5 games back-to-back and no substitutes available. Let’s prepare for next year!

We won our first three games 5-0, 7-1 and 2-0. We then lost our last league game 1-0 but went through to the final. In the final we lost 2-1, so came runners-up.

Secondary – Netball

This time it was great to the see the students more confident with their positions and there was an obvious improvement in reading the game, as well as anticipating our opponent’s moves. However, with some making the jump up to this team, so too was the goalpost moved (literally and metaphorically) – we were unable to make as much impact on the scoreboard. Netball goals sadly have no backboard. On a whole though it was great to see strengthened cohesion moving the ball down the court.

We played three games, winning one and eventually losing the tie break game 4-0.

Mr. Dmitry Vishnevsky

Basketball was played over two days. The eventual score on aggregate was 71-39. The second game was really close until the second half, but we didn’t have any substitutes and, in the end, ISM was just too strong.

To Conclude, I think that even if you lose, it is not only about teamwork and dedication, it is also about having fun! But, BE AWARE, ISM! Next year, we will come back strong than you have ever seen us before! GO HUSKIES!
