Ms. Nadezhda
As part of the 3rd grade curriculum, special attention is paid to the development of creative abilities and writing skills. An important task was to write an essay about the painting “In the Blue Expanse” by Arkady Rylov. This work allows the students to immerse themselves in the world of fine art and develop their ability to perceive and interpret the surrounding reality.

In front of me is a reproduction of A.A. Rylov’s painting “In the Blue Expanse”.
In 1911, Rylov saw this landscape with his own eyes and 7 years later created the work. He painted this landscape during the revolutionary period. It was a difficult time for our country and the painting symbolises hope for a brighter future. The landscape was the only consolation for the great painter.
Swans can be seen in the picture, flying confidently. They have one goal, they are moving forward together.
Milky air clouds resemble graceful birds. They swim with the swans, as if they were escorting the winged travellers on the road.
A dark blue sea meets mountains covered with snow-white cotton wool. A sailing ship with an iridescent boundless sky looks harmonious. It can be seen that A. A. Krylov mostly used shades of blue. It is especially impressive that the clouds rest on the top of the mountains.
I really like this painting. There’s even a slight breeze. It pulls me there…

In front of me is a reproduction of A. A. Rylov’s painting “In the Blue Expanse”. The landscape highlights the artist’s attitude to the harsh, revolutionary time. There was famine and cold in the country during that era, but the painting symbolises faith in a bright future.
The painter uses a delicate palette of colors on this canvas. The sky is shining and merges with the stormy dark sea. Swans fly through fluffy cotton clouds. Far away, beyond the horizon, a ship with cloudy white sails is rocking on the waves. The tops of the distant mountains are covered with snowdrifts and reach up to the soft clouds.
Everything is painted harmoniously on this canvas. The painting creates a feeling of calmness and a desire to be there. The birds seem to be pulling me with them. There is a light breeze and an affectionate wind. The gentle rays of the sun, heat the splashing water.
I was impressed by this painting because everything looks harmonious. It gives me a sense of peace.

In front of me is a reproduction of A.A. Rylov’s painting “In the Blue Expanse”. The canvas was created during the revolutionary period. At that time, hunger and cold prevailed, but the way the artist believed in our country can be seen in the impressive landscape.
The canvas depicts a seascape. A warm breeze is blowing. There is no main character in the picture, but everything is arranged harmoniously. Magnificent, proud swans, are flying in the iridescent sky. Fluffy clouds, like sheep, float in the air near the birds.
The dark sea is combined with the turquoise sky. Small snowdrifts are visible on top of the wave. A boat rocks in the distance. A breeze is blowing in the sails.
Mountains can be seen at the farthest point of the picture. Their tops are covered with snowdrifts and reach up to the clouds.
I was very impressed with this painting, because everything is drawn together melodiously.
