Klara Signer — teacher

‘The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don’t tell you what to see.’ This sentence by Alexandra K. Trenfor inspires my work.

In 10 years of teaching, I have worked with two different curriculums: English National Curriculum and IB Curriculum. During this professional journey, I’ve also completed multiple professional development courses in both areas and chosen the best approaches in teaching to design my lessons.

My favourite approach is an inquiry-based approach. Based on my experience, I believe one of the best ways to teach learners is by inspiring them to engage in problem-solving and experiential learning. This method enables students to acquire transferable skills, such as creativity, innovation, team collaboration, problem-solving and critical thinking.

In my free time, I enjoy spending precious time with my family. I likewise adore travelling and learning about the traditions of other countries. On a rainy day, I find myself doing craft activities or crocheting.

I am thrilled to be part of the International School of St. Petersburg and aid the school in fulfilling the school’s mission to “Deliver Outstanding International Education in St Petersburg”.
